All Rights Reserved.</copyright><ttl>60</ttl><item><title>Technician 1</title><link>http://www.dcpud.org/Jobs/W1205.aspx</link><guid>http://www.dcpud.org/Jobs/W1205.aspx</guid><pubDate>Thu, 03 May 2012 19:01:27 GMT</pubDate><description>&lt;p&gt;GENERAL INFORMATION: &amp;nbsp;Applicants must have work experience which demonstrates their ability to successfully maintain electronic control and communications equipment.&amp;nbsp; Those with strengths in telephone systems, personal computers, peripherals and computer networking will be highly considered. &amp;nbsp;Qualifications include the ability to read and revise engineering drawings and diagrams and the ability to write complete and accurate reports describing equipment tests or trouble investigations.&amp;nbsp; Formal related education at a college or trade school is desired for this position.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Applicants must be able to travel to and work at remote sites, possess a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and be able to work alone or with others in a wide variety of job disciplines.&amp;nbsp; They must be free of physical disabilities that would prevent satisfactory performance of their duties or otherwise adversely affect the safe performance of their work or others.&amp;nbsp; All applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors and be capable of occasionally lifting heavy items.&amp;nbsp; They must have the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, courteous manner and work amiably with fellow employees and the general public. A current Washington State Driver License is a requirement for this position.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Technician I will work under the supervision of the Control Systems Engineer.&amp;nbsp; Duties include the installation and maintenance of a wide variety of electronic control and communications systems throughout Douglas County.&amp;nbsp; Systems include, but are not limited to, digital wireless communications; fiber optics; telemetering; SCADA master station and remote terminal units; substation IEDs such as PLCs, meters, protective relays, reclosers, etc.; telephone systems; security systems; computer networking equipment and personal computers and peripherals.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;The successful applicant must become a member of Local No. 77, I.B.E.W. within 30 days of employment.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; There is a one-year probationary period associated with this position. &lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
